College Media Review (CMR), the flagship publication of the College Media Association, is the premier academic journal dedicated to the study and practice of collegiate media advising. Covering print, broadcast, and digital platforms, CMR provides thought leadership and scholarly insight for those guiding the next generation of student media professionals.
Mission
College Media Review aims to educate and empower college media advisers through research, best practices, and informed commentary.

Its peer-reviewed section presents research that identifies trends, explores theoretical frameworks, and quantifies developments within collegiate media and advising.
-
Its non-refereed section delivers essential news, commentary, and practical guidance on all aspects of advising—from teaching and training to recruiting, motivating, and inspiring students toward media excellence.
