Category: Confabs
Earl Johnson CMA members are invited to attend a joint webinar with Report for America starting at 7 p.m. ET on Monday, Jan. 12, to learn more about the national service program’s opportunities and application process. Report for America places early-career and experienced journalists in local newsrooms across the country to report on under-covered issues and communities. RFA has placed more than 750 reporters in more than 450 newsrooms in all 50 states to help fill critical news holes and coverage gaps. The program is currently seeking to fill 60-70 reporter and photojournalist positions in newsrooms across the U.S., including digital startups, daily and weekly newspapers, radio and TV stations, and more. All Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 graduates, as well as alumni, are eligible to apply. Interested underclassmen are also invited to attend the webinar to opt in to RFA’s recruitment list and learn more about new positions each year. RFA’s mission is to strengthen communities and our democracy through local journalism that is truthful, fearless and smart. The program places journalists in host newsrooms that are committed to paying a living wage, support their ongoing development through an extensive training program and ensure a supportive environment in which to practice journalism. For questions or additional information, contact Report for America’s recruitment team. Interested students may submit information to RFA to receive updates on available positions, salary information and more.
