The 2015 Sports Reporting Training Camp was a rousing success! Check this page in the months ahead for details about the next Sports Reporting Training Camp!

Registration is now open for CMA's second annual College Media Sports Reporting Training Camp, Feb. 6-7 in Nashville.

Last year's workshop sold out quickly, so we're moving to a bigger venue: the Bridgestone Arena, home to the NHL's Nashville Predators and The Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.

College sports media students, advisers and faculty can spend two days at Training Camp and learn from the nation's premier sports media professionals how to better inform and entertain your followers, no matter the media platform. This one-of-a-kind opportunity exclusively for college media will tackle sports storytelling, game analysis, social media and on-air radio and television.

Sessions will address topics such as game coverage, feature writing, sports commentary, player and coach interviews, sports talk radio, play-by-play, working with sports information directors, blogging, sideline reporting and sports broadcasting.

Confirmed and likely speakers include Buster Olney, ESPN; Dan Wolken, USA Today; Mitch Light & Rich McVey, Athlon Sports Magazines; Teresa Walker, Associated Press; Tyler Kepner, New York Times; Bill Hill, MLB.com; Rob Shaw, Facebook sports; Andrew Maraniss, author of "Strong Inside;" Joe Gisondi, author of "Field Guide to Covering Sports;" representatives from the NHL, NFL and SEC Network; sports radio personalities; and more. Watch sportsreporting.org for changes and confirmations.

Registration for the workshop is $99 and includes a ticket for each participant to attend the 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 NHL Predators vs. New York Rangers hockey game.

Workshop attendees are free to choose from among countless lodging options in the Nashville area. Check out the event site for suggestions or for information about the event.
