Individual Online Pinnacles  (All publications and stations with a digital presence and all standalone online media are eligible for the Individual Online Pinnacles. All entries must be submitted as links to online content.)

1. Best Podcast: This category recognizes excellence in content, production quality and innovative use of audio in the podcast. Entries should be no longer than five minutes and may be a segment of a longer podcast.             

2. Best Multimedia Feature Story:  This category recognizes excellence in telling a feature story using multimedia techniques, including interactive graphics, Flash, photography, audio and video. In addition to the quality of the journalism and creative use of the medium, judging will be based upon on the artful blending of multiple media into a single user interface.            

3. Best Multimedia Breaking News Story: This category recognizes excellence in telling a breaking news story using multimedia techniques, including interactive graphics, Flash, photography, audio and video. In addition to the quality of the journalism and creative use of the medium, judging will be based upon on the artful blending of multiple media into a single user interface.            

4. Best Breaking News Coverage:  This category recognizes excellence in digital coverage throughout a 72-hour period of a breaking-news event or development. Judging will be based upon evidence of exceptional journalism under deadline pressure, clear presentation through user interface, interactivity, use of social tools and creative use of the medium. An entry will consist of a single piece, series or package on the same event or development.

5. Best Audio Slideshow: This category recognizes excellence in combining photos with audio to create an enhanced story. Judging will be based upon well-integrated, strong imagery and  audio storytelling. Audio must include elements of the story and not just be a musical soundtrack.            

6. Best Social Media Presence:  This category recognizes excellence in promotion and delivery of overall coverage and content. Judging will be based upon reporting, writing and editing, multimedia, special projects, cross-platform integration, service to the campus community and interactivity.            

7. Best Viral Video:  This category recognizes excellence in content, production quality, use of social media to promote the video and innovative use of audio/video in the production. Number of views the video has received will be considered, but will not be the sole metric by which the category is judged. Entries should be no longer than five minutes.
